This consolidated edition of the FAL Convention includes amendments adopted at the thirty-fifth session of the FAL Committee which entered into force in May 2010. These include amendments to:

• Section 2 - Arrival and departure of ships
• Section 3 - Arrival and departure of persons
• IMO FAL Forms

Also presented is an Explanatory Manual to the Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic, 1965 which should help in interpreting the legal text of the provisions of the Convention that can be complex and at times difficult to understand and should provide for a greater understanding of the Convention, particularly in those Member States which are not presently Contracting Governments to the Convention.
